What You'll Gain/ Impact Opportunity to build deep expertise across a broad range of nonprofit accounting and consulting engagements Exposure to diverse client environments spanning finance operations, systems, compliance, and grants management Direct impact on the financial health and long-term sustainability of nonprofit organizations Hands-on experience supporting interim CFO and Controller-level engagements and Uniform Guidance compliance initiatives Key Responsibilities Participate in financial assessments and support senior staff in delivering finance department improvement recommendations Support system implementations and contribute to chart of account analysis and redesign engagements Perform financial and data analysis, including development and execution of complex reconciliations Develop, execute, and/or oversee the month-end close process for client engagements Prepare periodic financial reporting for client senior management and/or the Board of Directors Support and perform analysis related to annual budget development and projection processes Evaluate and document financial policies and procedures for client organizations Assist clients in preparing for the annual financial statement audit and IRS Form 990 data collection Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across all finance department areas Oversee and/or process components of payroll, accounts payable, and/or cash receipts Develop and implement Uniform Guidance policies and assist with indirect cost rate analysis Candidate Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related consulting role Experience in nonprofit accounting, including familiarity with fund accounting principles Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close processes, and budget analysis Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and single audit requirements Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to adapt across client environments Preferred: CPA license or active CPA candidacy Preferred: Experience with accounting system implementations or chart of account redesign $110,900 - $200,900 a year Why work for Aprio: Whether you are just starting out, looking to advance into management or searching for your next leadership role, Aprio offers an opportunity to grow with a future-focused, innovative firm.
