Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 2026-2027 school year! Up to 10 paraprofessional positions are available, working full-time with a diverse student population in a welcoming school environment near Lapeer, MI. You'll play a vital role in classrooms serving students with a range of needs, from mild to severe, across all grade levels.
In this role, paraprofessionals may provide 1:1 assistance to students in self-contained or resource settings, including those who are cognitively or emotionally impaired. Some placements are in general education classrooms at the elementary, middle, or high school levels. Duties may include direct support for classroom activities, assisting with daily tasks and personal care, and ensuring every student receives the attention they need to thrive throughout the school day. Depending on the assignment, hours will range from 7:15am–3:15pm or 8:15am–4:15pm.
Key Qualifications:
- At least 60 semester hours of college credit OR
- Associate degree or higher OR
- ETS Parapro Assessment score of 460+ OR
- SAT score of at least 480 (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing) and 530 (Math)
- Official university transcripts (required before district submission)
- Experience supporting students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs is strongly preferred
- Comfort with assisting students with toileting/diapering, particularly in cognitive impairment placements

- Assist students throughout the school day—academically and with daily living activities
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment, adapting to students’ individual needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school professionals
- Support students’ progress in achieving educational and social goals
