The Stationary Engineer 1st Class/2nd Class 0perates, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots Steam, Chiller Plant and HVAC equipment. Through the use of a computerized management system, controls temperatures and regulates the HVAC system to assure patient and staff comfort at all times. The position requires a thorough understanding of Steam Boiler, Chiller and HVAC plant equipment design and operating principles; to safely, reliably and efficiently produce and distribute the utilities of Steam and Chilled Water. This position also monitors, tunes and troubleshoots the consumption of these utilities by the Hospital's distributed HVAC equipment, such that the various Hospital spaces are properly conditioned. Accuracy is essential. Occasionally supervises work direction or instruction of other employees. Supervision provided directly by the Chief Engineer and Director of Plant Operations.

Requirements/Qualifications :

• A State of Maryland Stationary Engineers License is required (1st Class or 2nd Class)
• High school, trade or vocational school graduate, or equivalent.
• At least three (3) years' experience in boiler room or related area.
• Ability to operate engines and machinery necessary to heat and air-condition the hospital. Ability to read and follow instruction in operations manual.
• Must have a working knowledge of computerized Building Management Systems.

Salary Range: Minimum 28.90/hour - Maximum 47.71/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
