Exciting Emergency Department Nursing Opportunity

Job Description:


- Shift Type: 12-Hour Nights
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend or equivalent to 6-9 weekends in a 6-week schedule
- Orientation: Attend an in-person orientation with remote modules; ensure availability throughout

Unit Highlights:


- Trauma Level: III
- Emergency Room Capacity: 15 Beds / 2 Trauma Bays
- Fast Track Available: Yes
- Triage Area: Separate, travelers allowed to participate
- Psych/Seclusion Rooms: Yes
- Security: 24/7 in-house, stationed in the ER
- Patient Volume: Average 40+ patients per day

Staffing Information:


- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS or ENPC
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC
- Common Diagnoses:
- Abdominal Pain
- Chest Pain
- Fever
- Cough
- Dyspnea
- Headaches
- Injuries
- Extremity Pain

Required Experience/Skills:


- Proficient with Common Drips: Cardiac, Antihypertensive, Antiarrhythmic, Sedation, and Analgesia
- Team Collaboration with:
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor
- Nurse Aids/EMTs/Paramedics/Patient Sitters
- Respiratory Therapist Availability: 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, EKGs

Charting System: EPIC

Scheduling Flexibility:


- Self-Scheduling: Available
- Block Scheduling: Available
- Floating Requirements: Determined by Nursing Management; potential to float within Zone 1 based on extreme needs

Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs

Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for less than 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 91 Weeks
