Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic stepdown unit environment. The role involves maintaining professional accountability, coordinating patient care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring a high standard of patient rights and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide quality patient care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with various departments.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights.
• Perform duties consistent with professional standards and organizational values.

Position Requirements

• Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Preferred Certifications will be considered a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a stepdown unit.
• Ability to float as needed within the unit.

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: To be determined based on unit needs.
• Equipment: Familiarity with EMR, specifically EPIC.
• Type of Patients: Neuro Medical Surgical.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Black.
• Any unacceptable attire includes anything other than the specified scrub color.
