Position Summary The Department of Social Work is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor of Practice (fixed‑term track). The position may involve teaching undergraduate (BSW) and/or graduate (MSW) courses. Full‑time, 40 hours per week for nine months of each year. Workload Anticipated distribution: 80% teaching, 20% service. For an 80% teaching load, four courses each semester. Essential Functions Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses during fall and spring semesters. Course instruction primarily face‑to‑face; candidates must be able and willing to teach in that format. Engage in service activities as required by the department. Qualifications Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE‑accredited program. Two (2) years of related experience after MSW completion. Knowledge of academic and social work practice environments. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching in higher education at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Social work licensure in Texas or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
