PLC / Controls Programmer / Engineer

Overview We have been retained by our client in far north Dallas, a leader in automation, to deliver a PLC / Controls Programmer / Engineer on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis. Work onsite in Dallas location. Designs, develops, programs and maintains control systems. Analyze, and implement solutions to complete projects’ requirements. This role is responsible for analyzing systems, implementing solutions, and executing projects. Responsibilities Conduct detailed analysis, implement solutions, and troubleshoot issues. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers. Requirements Bachelors degree required. Engineering, Electrical or Controls engineering degrees highly desired. Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing, plant, automated warehouse, "pick, place, package, & ship", or automation of material handling equipment or conveyors. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. PLC programming experience, Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or very nice to have someone with experience with WAGO hardware (750 Series controllers or PFC200 Series PLCs, 750 XTR Series) or other hardware tools, and experience with CODESYS per IEC 61131-1 in Linux environment, WAGO I/O System 750. Familiar with basic LAN communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, any HMI, Profinet, or other industrial Ethernet protocols. Experience with material handling systems, warehouse automation, or conveyors is a plus. Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or CAD tools with electrical features; ability to read wiring schematics and create I/O lists. Good written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail. Ability to develop plans, make timely decisions, and set priorities with sense of urgency. Ability to squat to examine and troubleshoot equipment. Ability to handle basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment, power tools, volt meters, ampermeters. Willing to travel up to 10%. Preferred Skills Demonstrated experience in control system design and maintenance. Knowledge of motion control systems and VFDs for plant automation or material handling. Knowledge of machine vision systems and barcode reader integration in fulfillment/distribution centers. Experience with industrial robotics and/or collaborative robots (cobots) such as UR, Fanuc, ABB, KUKA; familiarity with safety devices, UL508A, NFPA 79, NEC, and IEC codes and standards. Employment details Employment Type: Regular full-time, direct-hire. Salary Range: $75,000 to $93,000 per year USD.
