Description:
George School, a Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory school, has an opening for a full-time Groundskeeper.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-house grounds jobs (i.e. mowing lawns, raking, pulling leaves, collecting trash, etc.) alone or as part of a grounds team.
- Assist grounds and paving contractors when needed.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields to support the school’s programs.
- Clear and clean gutters, downspouts and drains.
- Assist with snow and ice removal.
- Operate vehicles and equipment as required for grounds and paving jobs.
- Provide setup for special events such as Alumni Day and Commencement activities.
- Move tables and chairs as required supporting campus programs and activities.
- Participate in regular trash pick-up, disposal and recycling.
- Available for Saturday morning work detail on a rotating basis.
- High School Diploma
- Experience with general grounds maintenance
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate vehicles and shop equipment.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn turf management, grounds maintenance and horticulture.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pesticide Private Applicator’s License from the PA Department of Agriculture is a plus but not required.
