Responsibilities

**If you have experience as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT), Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), or Laboratory Technician (LT) you are encouraged to apply for this position. Please see full posting for list of certification requirements.

• Collect, process, and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, and other bodily fluids for analysis

• Perform routine and specialized tests to analyze specimens and provide data on patient health, which may include tests in hematology, chemistry, and other areas

• Interpret lab test results and ensure accuracy, you may also enter data into laboratory information systems and prepare reports for healthcare providers

• Follow quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, this may involve calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks

• Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards, which could include maintaining a clean and organized work environment and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

• Occasionally interact with patients, particularly when collecting specimens, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation

Qualifications

1. Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required 2. ASCP certification, or equivalent, required 3. Associates Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT. 4. 3 years of hospital laboratory work experience required
