Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will take on a key role in the technical design and implementation of our platform. You will bring your deep technical expertise to further develop our infrastructure based on DevOps principles, with a particular focus on cloud technologies and Kubernetes. At the same time, you will share your experience as a mentor in the team to collectively raise the product quality to a new level.

• Technical Leadership & Conception: As the first technical contact for project managers, you will work with the team to develop precise technical concepts, including for upcoming cloud migration projects.

• Cloud Migration & Hyperscaler Expertise: You will actively drive the migration of our infrastructure to the cloud and bring in-depth knowledge of at least one of the leading hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP): from architectural decisions to the concrete implementation.

• Team Development & Mentoring: Through targeted mentorship and knowledge transfer, you will ensure the development of the entire team and actively shape team structures.

• End-to-End Responsibility & Quality: From the requirement to the successful completion, you will take over the management of complex projects and proactively provide impulses to sustainably secure system and code quality.

• On-Call Rotation: Being part of our newly introduced on-call rotation is a welcome opportunity for you to take responsibility for the stability and availability of our platform together with the team.

What You Bring:

• Professional Experience & Hyperscaler Expertise: At least 5 years of professional experience in the DevOps environment, combined with in-depth, practical knowledge on at least one hyperscaler platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).

• Kubernetes & Container Technologies: Secure handling of Kubernetes (whether in self-managed operation or on managed services like EKS, AKS or GKE) as well as profound knowledge in Docker and hosting highly available SaaS products.

• Cloud Migration Experience: Upcoming cloud migrations are familiar terrain for you. You have accompanied or independently implemented migrations and know the typical challenges and solution approaches.

• Tech Stack & Quality Consciousness: General interest in the JavaScript cosmos; knowledge in Node.js, Vue, MongoDB or Redis is a plus. A high quality and security consciousness as well as an eye for the current state of the art are self-evident for you.

• Solution Orientation & Self-Responsibility: With intrinsic curiosity and startup mentality, you take on topics holistically, keep an overview even in fast iterations and bring them to a structured conclusion.

• Communication & On-Call Readiness: Open, clear communication at all levels is as self-evident for you as the willingness to become part of a structured on-call rotation.
