Associate Attorney, Bankruptcy

Job Summary Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured‑creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end‑to‑end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss‑mitigation oversight, and post‑petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor‑guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower‑facing and court‑facing credibility. Job Requirements 5+ years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena, at least 1 year representing creditors in North Carolina Bankruptcy Courts In good standing and an active member of the Bar Strong communication and writing skills Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations Must be able to attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of North Carolina Knowledge, Skills, & Education Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Strong written and verbal communication skills Motivated self‑starter with ability to multi‑task and prioritize multiple projects Proficient with superior attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfortable with technology Critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Experience managing a case file from start to finish and contributing to a positive team spirit Willingness to adapt to change and promote continuous quality improvement Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
