Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP, a well-established, mid-sized litigation defense firm, is seeking an experienced Attorney to oversee attorneys within our medical malpractice and healthcare defense practice.

This is a senior supervisory position for an accomplished litigator who combines strong medical malpractice experience with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop attorneys. The Senior Attorney will work closely with firm leadership while remaining actively involved in significant and high-exposure matters.

Responsibilities:

• Case intake, preparation of responsive pleadings and case assignment
• Personally handle and oversee complex and high-exposure medical malpractice matters, including attending depositions and writing substantive motions
• Supervise and mentor attorneys at varying levels of experience
• Conduct case reviews and provide strategic guidance on complex matters
• Review significant motions, depositions, expert issues, and trial strategy
• Train and develop attorneys in litigation, courtroom advocacy, and client reporting

Qualifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar
• Significant litigation experience, with medical malpractice defense experience strongly preferred
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring attorneys
• Strong knowledge of New York litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert issues, and trial preparation
• Trial experience preferred
• Excellent writing, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Sound judgment and strong client-management abilities

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range $175,000 - $200,000+ (commensurate with experience)
