Obstetric Hospitalist – Palomar Health | San Diego County, CA
Become part of a collaborative, patient-centered team dedicated to advancing maternal care. This opportunity is ideal for physicians who value strong collegial relationships, clinical excellence, and a flexible schedule that supports both local and traveling clinicians.
This is a 100% inpatient Obstetrics Hospitalist role focused on delivering high-quality, full-scope obstetric care in a dynamic hospital setting. Responsibilities include labor and delivery coverage, OB triage, antepartum and postpartum care, and emergency department consultations.
You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a Level III NICU-equipped facility , ensuring the highest level of care for mothers and newborns.
Flexible scheduling is available, including day and night shifts , with block scheduling options for traveling physicians .
Key Responsibilities- Manage labor and delivery, ensuring safe maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care across prenatal, antenatal, and postpartum settings
- Respond to OB emergencies and ED consults
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialty teams to deliver coordinated care
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active California medical license (or eligibility)
- Strong surgical and obstetric emergency management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
