The Waukegan courthouse becomes your home turf: your judges, your prosecutors, your reputation, with the full weight of the firm behind you. When you're not on a court call, you work from home. The Role

• In court most days at the Lake County courthouse in Waukegan , with the freedom to work remotely whenever you're not on a court call.
• Negotiate with prosecutors, counsel clients, and litigate everything from traffic tickets to DUIs, traffic misdemeanors, and traffic-related felonies.
• Carry an active caseload of roughly 100 matters : about 30 traffic tickets, 30 misdemeanor DUIs, 30 traffic misdemeanors (aggravated speeding, DWLS/R, reckless), and 5 to 10 felonies.
• Prepare cases for hearing and trial, manage evidence, and drive the best possible outcome on every file.

This is high volume by design. You'll rack up more courtroom reps in a single year than many lawyers get in five, and you won't do it alone.

What We're Looking For

• Licensed Illinois attorney with real criminal litigation experience (ASA, PD, or private defense).
• A courtroom presence that commands the room, with sharp negotiation, strong instincts, and an easy rapport with judges, prosecutors, and clients.
• Someone who wants to plant roots. This is a permanent anchor role, not a stepping stone.
• A genuine team player. Collaboration is non-negotiable here.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Polish) a plus, but not required.

Compensation

$140,000 base plus performance bonus, $160,000+ total for a top performer, with room above that for the right attorney. We pay for the best, and we'll say so up front, because we intend to keep you for the long haul.
