Founded in 2000 as a winter-only, overnight shelter for women, The Delores Project has grown to offer low-barrier, housing-focused 24-7 shelter for unaccompanied adult women, transgender and nonbinary people, supportive housing for formerly chronically homeless individuals with a disability, and a robust suite of wrap-around services including on-site behavioral healthcare. The organization also provides community-based aftercare services for clients who have transitioned from homelessness to housing.

  Job Description:  

The Case Management Supervisor (CMS) provides leadership, supervision, and support to 6 case managers and one housing navigator across The Delores Project’s continuum of care, including Shelter, Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Continued Care, and Housing Navigation services.

This position is responsible for supporting consistent, high-quality service delivery across programs while recognizing that each program serves individuals at different stages of their housing journey and with varying levels of need. The CMS will provide supervision, case consultation, coaching, and guidance to staff and help ensure participants experience coordinated, person-centered support as they move through The Delores Project’s programs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced case management leader who understands how homelessness and housing instability are impacted by behavioral health, substance use, trauma, and social systems. This individual is able to balance staff support and development with accountability, program expectations, and strong outcomes. This position carries a small caseload and helps provide interim case management in the event of staffing vacancies or absences.

Requirements:

 

Role Responsibilities

• Provide regular individual supervision, coaching, and support to case managers and the housing navigator across Shelter, Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Continued Care, and Housing Navigation services.
• Foster and promote a supportive and accountable team culture that encourages reflective practice, collaboration, professional growth, and creative problem-solving.
• Provide guidance and consultation on complex client situations and accompany case managers or housing navigators during meetings as appropriate
• Provide direct case management and housing-focused services and support to a small caseload, depending on program needs.
• Support staff in prioritizing their workloads, managing caseloads, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and responding effectively to changing client needs.
• Participate in onboarding, training, and performance evaluations in collaboration with the Programs Manager as appropriate 
• Partner with the Programs Manager to provide oversight of case management and housing-focused services across Shelter, Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Continued Care Case Management, and Housing Navigation.
• Ensure staff provide services that are person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with Housing First and harm reduction principles.
• Support appropriate transitions between programs and help ensure continuity of care when participants move from shelter into housing or transition between levels of support.
• Monitor caseloads and staffing capacity across programs and work with the Programs Manager to identify gaps, workload concerns, and opportunities for improved service delivery.
• Participate in program and organizational meetings and contribute to cross-program planning and problem-solving. 
• Take on the job duties of vacant positions as needed to maintain continuity of services, while working with the Programs Manager to prioritize and redistribute responsibilities appropriately.
• Assist with grant reporting and internal and external audits as needed in collaboration with the Programs Manager.
• Other program-related tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, behavioral health, or a related field strongly preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute. 
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in case management, housing services, homelessness services, behavioral health, or a related field.
• Previous experience supervising, leading, mentoring, or providing substantial support to direct-service staff strongly preferred.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and individuals with complex barriers to housing stability required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Housing First, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, person-centered practices, and culturally responsive service delivery.
• Experience with HMIS, documentation standards, program compliance, and outcome reporting preferred.
• Knowledge of housing resources, landlord engagement, public benefits, behavioral health systems, and community resources in the Denver metro area strongly preferred.

Additional Preferred Qualifications for direct-service staff:

• Understanding of client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and housing-first models of service and care.

• Work or educational background in human service, social work, and/ or customer service with diverse communities.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation.

• Prior training in harm reduction, mental health first aid, vicarious trauma, de-escalation, crisis management, and conflict resolution.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to work with and support volunteers.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively engage with staff, clients, volunteers and donors in person and on the telephone.

Working Conditions:

This position works with and supports a residential environment including walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, balancing, stopping, and kneeling. Work also includes manual dexterity for typing and operating a computer, holding, grasping, and turning objects. Work also requires the ability to speak and use normal or aided vision or hearing. Hazards may involve exposure to common household chemicals, loud noises, and exposure to illness and/ or unsanitary hygiene.
