About the Role:
The Forklift Driver plays a critical role in the manufacturing environment by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment to designated locations. The role demands strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a secure workplace. The Forklift Driver collaborates closely with warehouse and production teams to support seamless inventory management and production flow. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to operational efficiency and timely order fulfillment within the manufacturing process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by OSHA standards.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and material handling procedures.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and maneuvering heavy loads.
- Strong attention to safety and detail to prevent accidents and damage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with different types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and pallet jacks.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse software.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods safely within the manufacturing facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage areas according to company procedures.
- Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of materials moved and assist with inventory control as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with warehouse and production staff to prioritize and fulfill material handling tasks efficiently.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
