ER/Medsurg/Swing RN

MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF ER EXPERIENCE - MUST HAVE CHARGE EXPERIENCE Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC CRITICAL ACCESS EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT - Trauma Level? STEMI Receiving? Stroke Center?: Critical Access # of Beds/Trauma Bays: ER 2, MS 10 Nurse:Patient Ratios: ER 1:3-4, MS Days: 1:5. Nights: 1:6 Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ER: Traumas, Strokes, STEMIs, Chest pains, Respiratory Dx, Lacerations MS: Peds to geriatrics. Pneumonia, UTIs, observation patients, some short-term swing bed patients as well Common drips: Heparin and levophed Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes Are there nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters on each shift? Ratios? Duties?: ER: No, MS: Yes 1:8 Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the Tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Self/team scheduling Weekend Requirements: Every other Holiday Requirements: Every third Floating Requirements: Will float to between ER/Medsurg/Swing Bed How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift Additional Notes: Attributes that help make a nurse successful on this unit include teamwork, communication, flexibility, able to work under pressure, and adaptability Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
