Part Time Library Assistant - Circulation

POSITION SUMMARY : The Middletown Township Public Library is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant in the Circulation department. This individual will report to the Circulation Manager. Flexibility, strong communication, and customer service skills are a must. Responsibilities Prioritize, sort and shelve library materials. Assist patrons at the Circulation Desk and by telephone, providing courteous and knowledgeable customer service. Check library materials in and out. Respond to patron inquiries regarding library accounts, due dates, overdue materials, and fines both in person and by telephone. Create new library cards, review and renew existing patron accounts. Process cash register transactions, including fine payments and Friends Store purchases. Maintain library collections through shelf reading, weeding and relabeling materials. Proofread and process incoming materials, ensuring accurate labeling and catalog records. Complete special projects and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. SCHEDULE : 17.5 hours per week, one Saturday a month (9am-5pm, Off Monday & Wednesday for Saturday) Monday: 1:30PM - 5:00PM Tuesday: 5:30 - 9:00 PM Wednesday: 1:30PM - 5:00PM Thursday: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM Friday: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM
COMPENSATION:
CWA 1032 Contractual rate: $19.95/hourBENEFITS:
