At Apex, you don't just join a company, you help shape what comes next. Your Responsibilities as an Industrial Hygienist Collect building material, air, and noise samples. Gather, analyze, and interpret data. Input data into template reports. Perform asbestos inspections , including: Asbestos sampling Asbestos abatement project oversight Perform lead-based paint inspections , including: Lead sampling Clearance testing Conduct water intrusion and mold assessments , including: Moisture mapping Visible suspect biological growth assessments Mold sampling and clearance protocols Follow written scopes of work and take detailed field notes. Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive work‑performed reports using established templates and guidance. Ensure safe work practices are followed on all project sites. Qualifications BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Certified Asbestos Building Inspector (CABI) - required Colorado Air Monitoring Specialist (AMS) – strongly preferred. 1-5 years of relevant industrial hygiene or environmental consulting experience preferred. Ability to work efficiently under general oversight from a Senior Industrial Hygiene professional. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to draft concise, detailed, and accurate work‑performed reports. Experience with asbestos, mold, and lead sampling. Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and Colorado state regulations. Interest in professional growth through additional certification, continuing education, and cross‑training (e.g., compliance audits, Phase I ESAs, stormwater inspections, environmental sampling). Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Work Environment & Schedule This role is primarily field‑based, with the majority of time spent conducting building assessments, inspections, and sampling activities. Report writing and data analysis are performed when not in the field. Occasional evening, overnight, or weekend work may be required to allow access to unoccupied buildings and minimize disruption to occupants. Schedules are planned in advance whenever possible, with flexibility provided when after‑hours work is required. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision plan options.
