Position Overview Ryder is hiring a Class A Part‑Time CDL Truck Driver in Perth Amboy, NJ. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a fulfilling driving career. Compensation Paid weekly Hourly pay: $28.00 per hour Hours per week: 24 or more Paid training Schedule: 2–3 days weekly Start time: AM dispatch Routes & Equipment Deliver SOLO to NYC & MA Route: local home daily Tractor type: day cab Trailer type: 28' pup Equipment: manual pallet jack & lift gate Freight: touch – general freight Benefits Boot allowance provided Drivers are the captain and make safety decisions 401(k) rollover available now with company match after 1 year 12 weeks paid maternity leave (eligible based on tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech and more Ryder drivers operate well‑maintained, safe trucks 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements Minimum 21 years of age Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years) Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards and maintain accurate records and logs Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer Perform other duties as assigned EEO Statement Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
