Senior Accountant – Baltimore, MDCFS is partnering with a well respected, mission-driven non profit organization in Baltimore City. They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their small finance team. This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Accountant who enjoys hands-on fund accounting, and working closely with leadership in a structured, purpose-driven environment.The Senior Accountant will support a broad range of accounting, reporting, and compliance functions while contributing to the organization’s financial integrity and operational success. This role offers visibility, stability, and the chance to make a meaningful impact through accurate financial stewardship.Mission-focused organization with a strong commitment to transparency and accountabilityCollaborative finance team with direct exposure to leadershipWell-defined accounting processes and established controlsOpportunity for a Senior Accountant to own complex accounting and grant activitiesPrepare and record general ledger entries and perform bank and balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesSupport the preparation of financial statements, reports, and operating budgetsAnalyze financial data and provide insights to support planning and decision-makingPrepare sales and use tax filings and required regulatory reportsManage grant and fund accounting, ensuring compliance with donor and funding requirementsAllocate costs to appropriate programs and prepare grant-specific financial reportsAssist with internal controls, SOP development, and audit coordinationTrack transactions, vendor payments, and expenditures tied to special projects and assetsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years’ accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or government settingStrong knowledge of fund accounting and grant management preferredProficiency with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, Abila MIP, or Blackbaud Financial EdgeStrong Microsoft Excel skillsHigh attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlinesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsLocation: 100% on site in Baltimore, MD. M-FSalary: $75,000–$85,000
