Pendleton County Middle/High School- Custodian (Job Sharing)Total compensation: Salary based on experience and education level per PCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentSuccessfully pass state competency and performance test for custodiansAbility to perform without close supervisionAbility to operate cleaning machines such as buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, etc.Understand the essential procedures of cleaning and sanitizingAbility to pass a background checkImmediate supervisor: PrincipalEmployment term: 2026-2027 school year, 200-day contract each year thereafter.Work hours: 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. or as agreed upon with the school principalEmployee classification: Custodian IResponsibilities:Maintaining positive work habitsPerforming duties efficiently and productivelyMaintaining and/or upgrading skillsMaintaining personal qualities appropriate for assigned jobPerformance standards:Is regular in attendanceObserves assigned work hoursComplies with Pendleton County School policies governing employmentRegularly observes established safety proceduresRegularly stores supplies/equipment in a neat and safe mannerExhibits the ability to complete assigned work schedule on a regular basisReports to the principal repairs that need attention that are beyond his/her ability to completeRequests cleaning materials on proper forms and through proper channelsAnticipates job responsibilities that need to be performedOperates cleaning equipment effectivelyDemonstrates the essential procedures of cleaning and sanitizingPerforms assigned duties efficiently without close supervisionIs an effective member of the building custodial teamCooperates with professional staff in the identification and correction of custodial concernsDemonstrates the ability to follow directionsMakes repair to school plant, furniture and equipment that are within his/her scope and abilitiesAware of the regulations (health, safety, fire) impact on the school and assist with the school's compliance to these regulationsDemonstrates the procedures of effective cleaning/sanitizingParticipates in job-related training programsReads current articles related to job assignmentAccepts responsibility for the work assignedAccepts constructive criticismExhibits enthusiasm for the position assignedExhibits a positive attitude toward assigned workPossesses physical/emotional health necessary for effective job performanceIs receptive to using recent methods/procedures of cleaning/sanitizingMaintains appropriate appearance and personal hygieneMaintains a good relationship with teachers/students/administrators
