Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the north Nashville area. This full-time, onsite role runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, aligning with the school calendar. You'll play a crucial part in a district committed to serving deaf and hard of hearing students from Pre-K through middle school. Multiple school hubs are established for various grade levels, with assignments and specific caseloads determined by the evolving needs of the district.

What you'll bring:

• Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching
• Recent experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
• Comfort providing consultative services and collaborating on individualized education plans
• Solid understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for this population
• Strong communication skills for working with staff, students, and families
• Up-to-date or willingness to complete Tennessee fingerprinting/background check as required

In this position, you will:

• Deliver direct and consultative services for a caseload spanning kindergarten through twelfth grade
• Partner with general educators, related service providers, and administrators to foster inclusive learning environments
• Participate in IEP development and implementation, including assessments and progress monitoring
• Provide expertise on assistive technology, communication strategies, and accommodations for hearing needs
• Engage with parents and guardians to support student progress across settings
• Travel between assigned district hub schools as needed, based on student distribution
