Security Team Manager

DescriptionSAIC Office of Security is currently seeking a Security Team Manager to support the San Diego, CA Location Operations. Overall, the role of Security Team Manager provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure the organization's security posture is robust and aligned with industry best practices. This role is based fully in-person at our San Diego facilities. The role of an Security Team Manager/FSO is to act as the focal point for all security activities, coordinating the activities of a team responsible for ensuring the security and safety of an organization's assets, personnel, and information. Here are some key responsibilities:Leadership and Team Management: You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of security professionals. This includes setting goals, assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and evaluating team performance.Security Strategy and Planning: You will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's assets and mitigate risks. This involves conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and designing security protocols.Incident Response and Crisis Management: In the event of security incidents or emergencies, you will assist the team in responding effectively and efficiently. This includes coordinating with relevant stakeholders, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.Security Operations: You will assist in oversee the day-to-day security operations, including physical security measures, access control systems, surveillance systems, and security patrols. This involves ensuring compliance with security protocols and standards.Collaboration and Communication: You will assist in collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to address security concerns, provide security awareness training, and promote a culture of security within the organization. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying security policies, procedures, and updates to the team and other stakeholders.Risk Management: You will be responsible for assisting in identifying potential security risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies. This includes conducting security audits, evaluating security technologies, and staying updated on emerging security threats and trends.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Self-Inspections/Government Inspections as requiredMaintaining compliance with corporate and government manualsCorporate and Government database and system of record entrySecurity Awareness Training and EducationPersonnel Security and coordination with the SAIC PERSEC Service CenterClassification ManagementInterpretation and Training of Security Classification GuidanceInterpretation and Training on DD-254 security guidancePhysical Security and coordination with the SAIC PhySEC groupCoordination with multiple entities related to the active programs with Department of Energy, Customs & Border Patrol, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Defense Information Systems Agency, US Air Force & NavyOperations Security (OPSEC)Site and Program meeting attendanceInterface with program offices, managers and Senior Military/Corporate leadersMaintain an foster relationships with Government PSOs and DCSA assigned Industrial Security Representative (ISR)Communication to security leadershipIndoctrination briefings/debriefings and training presentationsProvide prime/subcontractor security support and directionAssist in identifying efficiencies and implement best practicesCommunications Security (COMSEC) coordinationAssist in writing plans to include concept of operations (CONOPS) and other applicable planning documentation based on requirementsProvide support to other security disciplines and sitesQualificationsRequired Skills and Education:Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience. An additional four (4) years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degreeMust be a US CitizenMust hold and be able to maintain an active Top Secret clearance to start and hold SCI Eligibility4-8 years experience in government and/or industrial securityPrevious experience with managing a team and/or being in a leadership positionMust be able to obtain the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) FSO certification with possessing curriculum within six (6) months of hireExperience with Closed Areas and classified systemsComprehensive knowledge of the design and execution of security programs in accordance with 32 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 117/NISPOMFamiliarity with DoD 5205.07Proficient in understanding Intelligence Community Directives with an emphasis on ICD-705 (Physical Security)Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutionsHigh degree of professionalism and attention to detailJob Field: SecurityTravel: No
