Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with an Oncology patient population, including administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection), and management of complex medical-surgical diagnoses such as sepsis, AKI, malignant neoplasms, diabetic foot ulcers, and encephalopathy
• Perform and manage specialized clinical skills including colostomy care, port access, central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, surgical drain management, chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac), wound care and wound VAC, and non-invasive airway management
• Administer and monitor high-risk medications including heparin drips and insulin; maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions
• Float as required to similar inpatient units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding in the ED or other medical patient care areas
• Participate in every other weekend rotation and fulfill on-call requirements for pre-scheduled shifts that are called off
• Respond and report to work as assigned during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, disasters, or storm/hurricane team activations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an inpatient Medical Surgical setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in Med/Surg skills including port access, blood product administration, PICC and central line management, chest tubes, wound VAC, and isolation precautions
• Ability to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy as needed
• Current BLS certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
• Charge nurse experience
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
