At PetVet Care Centers, we are looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills for building lasting relationships with clients. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, and will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager. Position Overview The Animal Medical Center of Fort Oglethorpe has recently completed a major renovation, creating an updated and welcoming environment for pets and their owners. The new features await a clinician ready to make the space their own. Practice Highlights Well‑established client base Five spacious examination rooms Open treatment area Separate dental & surgical suites Advanced surgical tools Upgraded monitoring & anesthesia equipment High‑speed dental unit Feline‑friendly spaces Experienced and tenured staff within the hospital 2 to 1 tech to DVM ratio Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients about their pets’ health Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries Maintain accurate medical records Prescribe medications and adhere to controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to assure high standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution Current State Veterinary License DEA registration obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Team‑oriented work style Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care Effective communication with all members of the medical and hospital staff Patient communication skills, including rapport building with pet owners Confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed or ill pets Ability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Comprehensive clinical knowledge and skills across various examinations and diagnostics Problem‑solving for high‑quality hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism and constructive feedback dynamics Business acumen for understanding practice management and finances Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of others’ learning What We Offer Signing, retention and relocation packages up to $75,000 Competitive salary and production bonuses, no negative accrual option Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team Member Pet Discounts Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle—relief fund for personal hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources PetVet is an equal opportunity employer.
