About the Position

Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM Must-Have: Labor or Postpartum experience within the last year Description: Contract position for an RN in Labor and Delivery. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. On-call duties are not required. Candidates must hold current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications. This unit has the following characteristics: There are a total of 23 beds, with 12 designated for labor and 11 for postpartum care. The unit comprises approximately 59 staff members. Patient ratios are 1:2 during labor and a maximum of 1:4 for couplets. Ideal couplet ratios are 1:3. Equipment includes Alaris pumps, GE fetal monitors, and Giraffe warmers. The electronic medical record system utilized is GE Centricity/CPN and Meditech. Preferred qualifications include: LDRP experience in mother/baby, postpartum, or NICU. Experience with infant care in special care nurseries. Candidates with NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications are prioritized. The ideal candidate exhibits a positive and friendly attitude and takes initiative. The culture of this unit is supportive, and teamwork is emphasized. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Travelers are not required to have stork embroidery but must wear navy blue scrubs. The unit has received recognition for outstanding engagement scores and has been nominated for awards.
