Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for cardiac patients, including post-operative and open-heart recovery care, according to established standards of care.
- Monitor patients, interpret data from telemetry and hemodynamic monitors, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans.
- Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and transition-of-care activities to ensure continuity post-discharge.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff on the unit, maintaining a safe, healing environment and effective team communication.

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California or equivalent).
- BLS certification required; ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required.
- Minimum of two years of recent acute care experience, with cardiovascular/cardiac focus.
- Balloon pump/open heart recovery experience required.
- BSN degree preferred; ADN acceptable with relevant cardiac experience.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and manage high-acuity cardiac patients.
