About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in the state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: ACLS required Description: The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. Provides routine and complex care while working towards long-range goals. Develops the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers. Meets expectations of applicable competencies in the nursing role. Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments following protocols. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
