The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the direct implementation of CARD treatment programs and providing mid-level supervision of Behavior Technicians. Under the guidance of CARD Clinical Supervisors, the Assistant Supervisor works with patients in diverse settings, including the CARD center, patients’ homes, and the community. The Assistant Supervisor oversees the delivery and data collection of ABA procedures and assists in the design of individualized programs. Administrative and clinical tasks are supported as requested by the Clinical Supervisor. Reports to the center Operations Manager. Extensive initial and ongoing ABA training is provided. This is a fully billable position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent CARD policy enthusiastically. Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders. Supervise cases and Behavior Technicians under the direction of the assigned CARD Clinical Supervisor. Provide clinical feedback to Behavior Technicians through training, team meetings, and data review. Report regularly to Clinical Supervisors on patient progress and assist with action plans for challenging lessons/behaviors. Conduct Caregiver Collaboration meetings (education, practicum). Assist with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Assist with clinical support tasks, including maintaining SKILLS accounts and reporting. Update programs: introduce and master exemplars, update lesson notes, add discrete events, create lesson materials. Set and meet performance goals for case quality and administrative duties. Assist in training new staff members. Provide direct treatment to patients as needed. Maintain HIPAA compliance in all settings. Minimize cancellations. Attend required trainings and meetings.REQUIREMENTS
Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT); credential must be obtained within 90 days of start date. Bachelor’s Degree with 12 units of ABA and 1 year of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or a master’s degree with appropriate experience. Experience designing and implementing behavior modification intervention services. Availability to work a minimum of 30–40 hours per week for full‑time consideration. Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to provide treatment at the highest level of excellence. Completion of CARD Assistant Supervisor Training. Completion of CARD Trainer Training for Initial Training Overlaps. Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to model/explain concepts. Ability to train others effectively in various formats. Empathetic and compassionate, maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborative with a positive, solution‑focused attitude. Independent work performing direct treatment. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment. Desire to continuously learn and develop skillsets. Willingness to work in varied locations (center, home, etc.). Willingness to adapt to scheduling changes and a variety of patients. Familiarity with iPads. English proficiency, verbal and written.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work occurs in both office and treatment environments, including the CARD center, patient homes, schools, community settings, and via telehealth. Assistant Supervisors may move between indoor and outdoor locations throughout the day.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work with patients seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other environments. Move frequently to gather materials, anticipate, and respond to patient movements. Constantly position oneself to participate and respond to behaviors, including bending, kneeling/crouching, hurrying, and reaching. Utilize visual tracking to monitor patient movements and environmental items. Respond to aggressive behaviors, sometimes requiring physical containment or blocking. Teach patients to use vocal speech, articulate sounds, and model clear speaking. Use modeling to teach gross and fine motor skills. Work in indoor and outdoor settings, including varied weather.
