Job Summary:
Critical Care Nurse (ICU RN) in Mount Vernon, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within the Intensive Care Unit, supporting critically ill patients. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois state Registered Nurse (RN) license on the first day of assignment. The role offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a 7-bed ICU setting on night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.), minimum of 48 hours per week, with guaranteed hours.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois state Registered Nurse (RN) license, Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing, 2 years of ICU or Critical Care experience, Epic (EPIC) electronic medical record experience, certifications including American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to Emergency Room or Medical-Surgical units; orientation is provided if necessary.
• Additional Information: Guaranteed hours are set at 48 per week. The assignment duration is 13 weeks with a start date of June 29, 2026. No on-call duties are required, but call-back may be needed if census is low, with a response time of one hour. Orientation will be with the current supervisor for a few shifts to review responsibilities.
• Certifications: Required certifications must be attached upon submission, including Illinois RN license, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
• Other Details: The unit has 7 beds with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. The candidate should demonstrate resilience, adaptability to change, and strong work ethic. Scrub color is navy blue. No COVID-19 vaccination is required at this time but may be subject to change.
