Job Description: Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Information Technology Specialist I (00018) in User Support Services. The successful candidate will provide technical support to faculty/staff and students regarding networking, software, hardware, e-mail, and telecommunications. This position is responsible for resolving as many customer issues as possible over the phone and for creating and assigning work orders to the appropriate technician when necessary. The successful candidate must effectively communicate policies and procedures to faculty/staff and students over the phone, electronically, and in person as needed. Assistance with hands-on computer repairs is also a requirement as needed. This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements:
- High school diploma / GED
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, and to provide outstanding customer support via telephone, electronically, and in person is essential
- Strong knowledge of various software applications, including Windows OS, Mac OS, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Computing, Information Sciences, or similar field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.
