Job Details: Shift: Days, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 2 years of experience as an Emergency or Trauma nurse, certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or TCRN. Unit Specifics: The emergency department has 24 beds, patient ratios of 1:4, with unit secretaries available 21 hours per day, and 5 registered nurses on core shifts from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Equipment: Level 1 fluid warmer, GE monitor system, Artic Sun, Lifepak, Alaris pumps. Documentation: Meditech documentation system. Scheduling Requirements: Coverage includes every third weekend with a mid-shift schedule, with start times as early as 10 a.m. and as late as 1:30 a.m. Additional Information: The role involves performing all procedures associated with a Level 2 trauma center, with rare floating only if staff are flexed home. The dress code requires a solid-colored cobalt blue top and black or cobalt blue pants, with closed toe shoes.
