The Opportunity The Assembly Line Associate position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks on the assembly line in support of the assembly process and producing quality merchandise on schedule. The starting rate is $16 per hour, depending on role, level and location. Additional benefits are 10 days of paid vacation and 11 days of paid holidays subject to annual change. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Perform various tasks on the assembly line, such as opening cartons, placing product on tables, applying labels, packing product and taping boxes. Wrap and/or band pallets, tag pallets and move pallets to appropriate area for removal. Remove trash and debris from lines; assist with overall housekeeping tasks on the line. Assist line leaders as needed. Be responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area. Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Overtime is required. Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary on facility’s needs. What You Need To Succeed Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED minimum. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
