Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Telemetry Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients with cardiovascular conditions on a 32-bed unit, focusing on cardiac monitoring and treatment. This role involves managing complex cardiac cases, administering medications, and coordinating post-hospitalization care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients' EKG and oxygen saturation levels continuously using telemetry systems.
• Administer IV and oral medications to treat cardiac conditions and arrhythmias.
• Prepare and facilitate patients' transfer for cardiac interventions, surgeries, and diagnostic tests.
• Deliver holistic patient care, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.
• Document patient progress and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to optimize treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and travel requirements.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active RN license.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent experience in cardiac telemetry or related field.
• Require a minimum of 1 year of EPIC EMR system experience.
• Maintain required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SC.
• Show ability to work 3x12 day shifts and float as needed.
• Be willing to adhere to travel compliance and module completion requirements.
