Asset-Backed Finance Mid/Senior Level Associate Attorney – New York

Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3–7 years of experience to join a growing Asset-Backed Finance practice in New York. The ideal candidate will have experience with asset-backed finance transactions or asset-based lending and will have advised borrowers, lenders, issuers, underwriters, placement agents, and/or collateral managers on sophisticated structured finance offerings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative practice that represents clients ranging from sophisticated financial institutions to first-time issuers and emerging companies and has played a key role in developing established securitization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Advise borrowers, lenders, issuers, underwriters, placement agents, and/or collateral managers on structured finance transactions

• Support all aspects of asset-backed finance and asset-based lending transactions

• Assist with the development and implementation of sophisticated securitization platforms

• Work on complex financing matters for financial institutions, issuers, startups, and other market participants

Requirements

• 3–7 years of relevant legal experience

• Experience with asset-backed finance transactions or asset-based lending

• Experience advising one or more of the following: borrowers, lenders, issuers, underwriters, placement agents, and/or collateral managers

• Experience with structured finance offerings

• Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Admission to the applicable state bar and good standing in the jurisdiction where hired

Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range is $260,000–$435,000 , with actual compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.

Location: New York. The position may also be based in another office location where the firm maintains an office, subject to applicable bar admission requirements.
