Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced ICU registered nurse for a 15-week contract specializing in critical care. The role involves providing advanced patient care in a high-acuity environment, primarily during night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor critically ill patients using advanced ventilator and hemodynamic equipment.
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Perform invasive procedures, including chest tube insertion/removal, arterial and central line care, and phlebotomy.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and ensure safety through proper use of PPE and isolation precautions.
• Document patient status accurately and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal care.
• Assist with managing high-flow oxygen devices and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California registered nurse license.
• Possess at least 3 years of ICU experience, with proficiency in critical care procedures.
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, PIM, NRP, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrate strong skills with FloTrac/Vigileo, EKG interpretation, and ventilator management.
• Successful completion of an advanced EKG exam with a minimum score of 80%.
• Able to work nights, include every other weekend, and adapt to float assignments to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units.
