Location: Liberty, SC
Shift: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic III – HVAC/Refrigeration to support facility and manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving HVAC/R systems and related equipment in a regulated industrial environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with industrial/commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, preventive maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC/R systems and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Chillers, compressors, boilers, pumps, and air handling systems
- Refrigeration equipment, freezers, ice machines, and cooling systems
- Environmental chambers, incubators, and temperature-controlled equipment
- Fans, valves, actuators, motors, and control components
- Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues and restore equipment operation.
- Replace and repair components such as belts, bearings, seals, gaskets, coils, and controls.
- Use HVAC/R diagnostic tools including gauges, leak detectors, multimeters, and testing equipment.
- Perform brazing and soldering as required.
- Support general mechanical maintenance, pipefitting, and facility improvement projects.
- Complete preventive maintenance activities and document work through CMMS systems.
- Follow safety procedures, quality standards, and site policies.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC/R maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, refrigeration equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
- EPA Refrigerant Certification required.
- Experience with chillers, compressors, boilers, air handlers, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to work independently and perform hands-on repairs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated environments.
- CMMS experience.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Mechanical repair and piping experience.
