Job Summary: The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a headache trained neurologist interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our headache program.

School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Neurology The Department of Neurology has over 65 faculty and 25 advanced practice providers located at 20 S. Park/Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and UW Health Clinics. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care. Job Summary: The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a headache trained neurologist interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our headache program.
- This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
- Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
- This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with JR#10003478; please note that only one vacancy exists. Having two job postings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates on both the CHS and CT tracks.
- This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.
- This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
- The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.
- Teaching efforts would include participation or development of a unique or exceptional teaching program in a clinical or classroom setting, including but not limited to lectures, seminars, one-on-one clinical setting, program or course director, etc. Additional teaching responsibilities would include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of the candidate's clinical practice.
- The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
- Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, procedures, and inpatient attending at UW Health Hospitals and Clinics and affiliated locations.
- Teach medical students, resident, and fellows.
- In the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track, faculty contribute to the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) missions through a scholarly approach. Faculty are expected to promote based on two or more areas: research, teaching, clinical or public health practice, or institutional leadership. Responsibilities typically include 70% clinical care and 30% teaching and/or research and/or service, based on the candidates' areas of interest.
- If candidates chose to pursue research, efforts could include independent research or collaboration with other established researchers; including not limited to bench science, clinical trials, community-based programs, community health intervention studies, etc.

- Must have completed a neurology residency program.
- Headache fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
- Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
- Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
- For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
