NOTICE OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY The Elma School District is accepting applications for the following certificated position: 2026-2027 Elma Middle School Physical Education Teacher Date Posted: 06-09-2026 Closing Date: 06-14-2026 or until filled Start Date: 08-24-2026 Category: Certificated 2025-2026 ETO Salary Schedule Rate Range: $64,711.58 - $122,591.66 Salary will be updated per ETO CBA Salary Schedule 2026-2027 Benefits Include: Twelve (12) Days Sick Leave per school year Two (2) Personal Leave Days with pay per year Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) DCP - Deferred Compensation Program Washington Paid Family Medical Leave Medical; Dental; Vision; Basic Life; AD&D; LTD Insurance; FSA and DCAP Required Qualifications: Valid Washington State teaching certification appropriate to the grade level and subject being taught WSP/FBI background and fingerprint clearance (fee paid by the employee) Successful secondary school teaching experience Preferred Qualifications Demonstrate knowledge and skill in aerobic conditioning instructions Work as a team member Ability to motivate and challenge students to develop habits to make healthy choices for life Demonstrated ability to teach health Examples of Duties This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties: The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for teaching PE and sports to students Implement lesson plans to help students develop their physical abilities, including their strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility Educate students on benefits of regular exercise and nutrition Teach a wide range of activities, such as team sports like basketball, soccer, tennis or gymnastics Assess student progress by monitoring students and provide feedback on their performance Continue Professional Development to keep up to date with the latest trends in physical education Application Process Apply at Required attachments: Cover Letter, Resume, three (3) Certificated Letters of Recommendation, and Washington State Teaching Certificate.
