Surgical Technologist

The HI-OR Scrub Tech is responsible for providing skilled surgical assisting by independently scrubbing cases across multiple specialties including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology. This role supports surgical turnover, patient transport, and ensures efficient operation of a busy outpatient and inpatient operating room environment. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of hospital scrubbing experience and a valid Hawaii license at the start of the assignment. Responsibilities:

• Independently scrub surgical cases in various specialties such as General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology.
• Assist with turnover cleaning between surgical cases to maintain a sterile environment.
• Transport patients as needed within the surgical department.
• Participate in daily operations of 1-2 outpatient GI labs and 1-2 simultaneous operating rooms.
• Adhere to dress code by wearing provided scrubs.
• Complete orientation on day shift as directed by management.
• Maintain readiness for 24/7 on-call coverage with rapid response expectations.

• Minimum of 2 years of hospital scrubbing experience.
• Active and valid State of Hawaii license before the start of assignment.
• Ability to independently scrub a variety of surgical procedures.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols.

• Experience with robotic and endoscopic surgical procedures.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced, busy OR environment.

• Must be available for on-call coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, averaging 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month.
• 20-minute call-back time required when on call.
• Traveler must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract if requesting time off.
• Orientation will be scheduled on day shift for up to one week or as determined by manager.

• Variable shifts operating between 06:45 and 23:15 based on department needs.
• Scheduled for 40 hours per week with possible reduction to 32 hours during holidays.
