Today Project FIND operates three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people and four senior centers with over 3,000 members. Our members and residents range from the healthy and active to the frail and homebound to the homeless. For all these individuals, Project FIND is a critical resource, providing housing, meals, and programs that help individuals navigate the challenges of aging by encouraging community engagement and healthy living.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Junior Handyperson is responsible for building maintenance, repairs, and preventive care across Project FINDs residential and administrative sites. This is a multi-site role based out of the Main Office, with regular assignments across Project FINDs portfolio of buildings. Responsibilities include cross-site work order completion, office space optimization and reconfiguration, and general building and grounds upkeep in support of both staff operations and resident services.

General Responsibilities:

• Completes cross-site work orders across Project FINDs portfolio of buildings, traveling to assigned locations as directed and reporting to the direct supervisor upon arrival at each site.
• Assists with office space optimization projects, including furniture reconfiguration, layout planning support, and setup for new or renovated workspaces.

• When on assignment at any site, must report to their direct supervisor upon arrival and check in for all tasks, updates, and work order items before beginning work.

Qualifications:

• Basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to safely use common power and hand tools
• The ideal candidate will be skilled in a wide range of areas but will also be able to recognize when a repair is outside of their skill set and make a recommendation to their supervisor.
• HVAC knowledge and repair skills
• Experience installing and replacing plumbing systems
• Strong communication skills with property management and tenants
• Self-starter with good time management skills
• Ability to sit, walk and stand for numerous hours
• Ability to lift packages and other items up to 50

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Please note this position requires the availability and flexibility to occasionally work some weekends and holidays.

Project FIND participates in E-Verify, which confirms employment authorization through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
