Production Lead
The Production Lead provides day-to-day leadership and coordination for assigned light assembly work areas, with primary accountability for quality execution, operator training, material readiness, and production support. The Production Lead ensures operators have the training, materials, documentation, and support needed to complete work accurately, safely, and on schedule.
The position serves as a key resource between operators and the department supervisor by reinforcing standard work, verifying quality requirements, supporting new employee onboarding, tracking operator time and workflow status, and helping resolve barriers that may impact production output.
Essential duties and responsibilities include leading assigned work areas, managing daily schedules, communicating daily expectations, reviewing work orders, training new and existing employees, verifying training effectiveness, providing coaching and feedback, performing quality verification activities, tracking operator time and job status, maintaining records, monitoring material availability, identifying and implementing process improvements, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and regular and predictable attendance.
Education and/or experience required include previous experience in a manufacturing or operations environment, training in lean manufacturing, quality systems, leadership, or related topics, ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, bills of material, production documentation, quality requirements, and written procedures, experience tracking production activity, labor time, job status, or material needs, and high school diploma or equivalent.
Language and people skills include understanding and following both verbal and written directions, basic English speaking/writing and reading skills, working effectively as part of a team, and displaying cross-cultural sensitivity.
Computer skills include experience using computers, email, and internet, experience working with an ERP system, and experience with Microsoft Excel.
Physical and mental demands include sitting or standing, using hands to manipulate small components, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
Work environment includes working in an open manufacturing environment, exposure to radiant heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, industrial chemicals, vibration, and moderate to higher noise levels.
Compensation is $21.50 - $22.50 with non-exempt status. Employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA accounts, critical illness, hospital indemnity, STD, LTD, life, AD&D, retirement with match, flexible schedules, holiday pay, vacation pay, and sick pay.
