Details ICU unit within a hospital setting Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00) Option of 36 or 48 hours per week Patient ratio of 1:2 Weekend shifts required May float to Med-Surg, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU with a maximum of 4 patients while floating Brief orientation provided when floating to other units Requirements Active RN license, New Mexico or Compact required (pending license accepted if obtained prior to start) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required Epic charting experience preferred Experience with IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and suctioning (ETT, NT) Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients; EVD, ICP monitoring, and post neurosurgery management preferred Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and dysrhythmia management Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols Additional Information Provide critical care nursing services within Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted Previous staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation American Traveler Job ID P-739967.
