Job Opportunity Clinical Documentation Specialist RN Location: Beaverton, OR (Remote, must be in Pacific Time Zone) Overview
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Status: Full-time through October, potential for reduced hours thereafter
- Licensure Required: Active Oregon RN License
- Certifications Required: BLS
- Diffuse conflicts and negotiate solutions in sensitive situations.
- Evaluate quality of care in relation to cost-effectiveness and develop medical management strategies.
- Research, integrate, and analyze data from various sources.
- Consult with providers and insurers to address issues as needed.
- Interact with different departments to problem-solve and improve efficiency and care quality.
- Assist in identification and management of potential liability situations.
- Identify and develop medical policies and protocols, obtaining necessary approvals.
- Maintain processes for timely updates of treatment protocols and medical policies.
- Conduct prospective reviews of health service requests.
- Consult with medical professionals regarding appropriateness of services and policies.
- Monitor quality of care issues and ensure proper oversight of data gathering and analysis.
- Review treatments retrospectively, making necessary interventions with providers.
- Perform case management where appropriate and identify cases needing catastrophic management.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through education and networking.
- Experience Required: 5 years of clinical experience and 2 years of utilization review or quality assurance experience.
- Preferred Experience: 2 years in medical case management and managed care or workers' compensation insurance.
- Education Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
- Documentation System Preference: EPIC experience preferred.
