Registered Nurse Post Surgical Unit

RN Post Surgical Full Time USPI St. Josephs Outpatient Surgery Center is hiring a full-time RN for the Post Surgical Recovery Care Center. The position offers 3‑12 hour shifts, including night shift differential of 18%. The role is situated in a fast‑paced ASC environment committed to providing the highest quality care and experience for patients and families. Job Summary Plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients of any age in the Recovery Care Center department. Provides nursing care within professional nursing standards and Center policies, making decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicating appropriate information to other team members. Additional responsibilities may include committee service, participation in quality improvement audits, and other projects as designated by the manager. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility. Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for post‑perioperative nursing care according to accepted standards. Plans, implements, and evaluates post‑operative nursing care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs, and according to physician’s orders. Organizes and prepares medical records of patients. Documents care appropriately and fully. Follows up on missing data and other patient care needs. Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of intravenous therapy, medication administration and effects, patient assessment, airway maintenance, patient teaching, emotional/social support of patients and families, and other needed clinical competencies. Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations. Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior. Actively participates in appropriate committee and CQI activities. Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood‑borne pathogens. Uses good body mechanics. Informs RCC Manager of applicable day‑to‑day situations. Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies. Required Skills and Qualifications Current Arizona RN license Minimum 1‑2 years experience in a pre‑operative setting, ICU, PACU, or advanced med‑surg unit Graduate of an approved school of nursing CPR required and advanced life support certification required Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position Night Shift pay #J-18808-Ljbffr
