Technical Writer

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements:

• 5+ years of related IT experience, including work developing structured written materials and visual aids
• 3+ years of technical writing experience
• Ability to write, edit, and prepare graphic presentations of technical information for technical and business audiences
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Experience using templates and style guidelines to maintain brand consistency
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to absorb and retain complex processes
• Strong English language skills, including demonstrable knowledge of grammar and usage
• Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a broader perspective
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
• Flexibility in responding to changes and constructive feedback in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred: Completed bachelors degree
• Preferred: Experience writing Advanced Planning Documents and/or Requests for Proposals
• Preferred: Understanding of LEAN or Agile development practices
• Preferred: Experience with BizAgi
• Preferred: Experience in a government environment

• Partner with Business Analysts, subject matter experts, and technical staff to understand project goals and develop deliverables and supporting documentation
• Recommend deliverables based on analysis and design discussions
• Work with technical staff to make project materials clear and easy to understand
• Organize and write supporting documents as needed
• Select photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts that help users understand the material
• Update documents as new issues arise
• Help organize and maintain the projects SharePoint site and other document repositories
• Communicate with vendors, project team members, management, and agency departments
• Structure technical explanations to suit the audiences needs and level of knowledge
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and vendors
• Balance competing tasks and deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
