POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, provides security for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned; and to do other work as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be: Education: Post high school vocation with specialized training is desirable. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in law enforcement or private security/contract agency desired. Licensure/Certification: Possession of an appropriate valid California driver’s license. Guard Card issued by the State of California Current BLS through AHA Employees must maintain a driving record, which meets the insurability requirements of Physicians for Healthy Hospitals, Inc.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of: Security systems, procedures and enforcement codes. Knowledge of: Modern office methods and procedures. Ability to: Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures. Ability to: Secure cooperation of department heads in accepting and carrying out sound security management practices. Ability to: Keep abreast of developments in the field of security administration. Ability to: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to: Participate a Professional Assault Response Training. Ability to: Participate in the International Association for Health Care Security and Safety “IAHASS”.
