Audiologist – Veteran Disability Assessments
We are looking for a committed Audiologist to join our team in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the disability benefits assessment process. In this position, you will examine the Veteran's medical history, which is securely uploaded to a digital portal, prior to administering the Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test. Following these assessments, you will fill out a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) within the portal, creating the necessary medical documentation for the VA to assess the Veteran’s eligibility for benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
- Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
- Thoroughly document examination results and complete the required VA forms.
Note: This position does not include prescribing medical treatments or devices. Disability decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) , not by the provider.
Position Details:- Schedule: Part-Time, 2 days per week (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
- Location: In-person role.
- Caseload: Average of 3-6 Veterans per day.
- Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.
- A compassionate Audiologist who is dedicated to assisting the Veteran community.
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate medical records and assessment data.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in electronic documentation and web-based systems.
- A professional and empathetic approach when interacting with Veterans.
- Possesses an Au.D. and has graduated from an ASHA Accredited Institution.
- Holds a valid license as an Audiologist.
- Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
