The warehouse selector accurately sorts, organizes, and prepares products for shipment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves handling materials, operating basic warehouse tools and equipment, and consistently meeting production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize items, packages, and materials by destination, type, size, or code to ensure accurate routing and efficient workflow.
• Inspect inventory during the sorting process to identify defects, damage, or missing pieces and report issues promptly.
• Use handheld barcode scanners and computer screens to scan, log, and track inventory movement throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload boxes or pallets manually and with basic equipment such as pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks.
• Palletize products securely to prepare merchandise for storage or shipment.
• Perform general material handling tasks, including picking orders and staging products for outbound shipments.
• Maintain accurate warehouse inventory by following established procedures and documenting product movement.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and free of debris, following all safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
• Work at a consistent pace to meet strict facility production goals while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

• Experience with picking, loading, unloading, and general material handling in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to use RF scanners or handheld barcode scanners to track and record inventory.
• Proficiency in operating pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks safely.
• Experience with palletizing products and preparing merchandise for shipping.
• Ability to stand and walk for long shifts and frequently lift weights ranging from 2035 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to read labels, follow sorting instructions precisely, and identify damaged goods.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment with high noise levels.
• Ability to maintain focus and productivity to meet strict production and performance goals.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that can be warm in the summer and cold in the winter, and is described as fast-paced with high noise levels. The schedule typically runs Thursday through Sunday and depends on when trucks arrive, so flexibility is essential as there is no fixed start time. Weekly hours generally range from 24 to 30. You will regularly use RF scanners, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and other basic warehouse tools while performing loading, unloading, and material handling tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
